About The Speaker
Thomas Jun is a researcher, educator, design facilitator and animation/film producer working in a broad field of human factors, system safety and participatory system design. He is Senior Lecturer in Human Factors and Complex Systems at Loughborough University and Chartered Ergonomist & Human Factors Specialist. His expertise is in applying a participatory systems approach to the design/analysis of various complex safety-critical systems, e.g. healthcare, nuclear and shipping. He has been involved in various projects addressing medication safety, blood transfusion safety, suicide prevention, antibiotics over-prescription, dementia care, ship collision and nuclear incidents. Thomas is very keen to communicate his research-based insights on the nature of complex systems to a broad range of audiences (general public, policymakers, practitioners, media and activists) through highly-praised animations/film. We will have the privilege of hearing Thomas speak about system design & systems thinking.
